Take this train to the montenvers station to view the mer de glace, (sea of ice) and check out the ice cave artificially carved into the glacier each season. If you purchase a multi pass you can do this and l'aguille du midi in the same day if you get an early enough start.

OK let's start HERE!!! after you have your ticket I would suggest going here to take the train up to Mer de Glace and see the magnificent glacier view. But be away it is MELTED...sorry. It is still a beautiful view and you can do 2 things before taking the hike to Plan de l'Aiguille. 1.visit the museum (20 mins) 2.visit the Ice Cave (1 hour)

Great for non-skiers and the start of a lovely traverse walk over to the Plan de l'Aiguille lift station. There is also a lovely restaurant at the top.

A fabulous trip up the mountain on a rack and pinion railway. At the end of the line, you will see the Mer de Glace, glacier.
