Hengifoss is the highest waterfall in Austurland, there is about one hour walk from the carpark but it is so rewarding walk. I have been up there so many times. It is just wonderful. my recommendation is to be there very early, see the morning rise over the mountains and hopefully you will be there alone to enjoy

A lovely waterfall next to Iceland largest forest. around half an hour drive from Reykjavík, quite steep but there are steps to make it easier.
