Alchohol store - As you may or may not have found out is that in Iceland you either buy alcohol at the duty free (recommended) at the airport or at it's governments stores called ÁTVR or "ríkið" pronounced "reeketh" Lucky will have it that it's only one in Akureyri is located at the bottom of our street. Opening hours are Monday to Thursday 11-6 Friday 11-9 Closed on Sundays

In Iceland you can only by vine and spirit in the "Vinestore" and it's only open on weekdays. Better to know where to find it.

The only local shop selling wine and beer. Open on Saturday from 11-18, closed on Sunday and open again on weekdays from 11-18.
