One of the best short test moderately 2.8 mi distance trail in Friant is Pincushion Mountain Peak, which is popular for birding, hiking and mountain biking. The route takes ~1.45 minutes to complete. Bring water, sunscreen and hats to avoid sunburn and dehydration. The best time to visit is Mar-Oct but be sure to leave pets at home as it is not allowed. There is also the Pincushion Peak via South Trail that is a little shorter but has great views from the top.
