Pandeli, whose story is based on a three-storey restaurant that was opened in Eminönü in 1926, has made a name for itself with its guests of historical importance such as Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, Celal Bayar, Adnan Menderes and Queen Elizabeth. Located in the Spice Bazaar today, the place has a mystical atmosphere and innovative flavors such as anchovy mud. For those who like the classics, traditional lamb meat sultanas comes to the rescue. As the venue is subject to the opening and closing hours of the bazaar, you should plan your Pandeli trip at noon if possible.

a must visit restaurant above the spice bazaar. can be tricky to find, just ask any shopkeeper to point you in the direction of the stairs up to pandeli. one of the oldest restaurants in the city, founded by a greek man (pandelis) from central anatolia. had been closed for years but recently reopened under new management. continues the same tradition of excellent food and service. I recommend going for lunch after exploring the local bazaars.
