Nature walk with a guide and transfer
A unique opportunity to walk around a small unbroken caldera ( a mini Ngorongoro Crater if you like) in Maasai land. We will organise a taxi to collect you from your Lodge and bring you out to the area. We are about 40 mins from Arusha. There is the option to walk the whole way around the Crater rim (approx 90 mins) or a shorter walk down into the Crater itself. Amazing views of Mt. Meru and Kilimanjaro are possible and views over Maasai land itself. There is no big game in the area and it safe to walk. Birdwatching and the natural formation is stunning. The Taxi will then return you to your Arusha Lodge / hotel. The trip including pick up from Arusha would take about 3.5 hrs in total. The Crater is in village land and we pay a fee to the village council for permission. Being 5km off the main road it is a hidden gem. It is one of the few places that you can walk in nature cheaply and safely (from animals) on safari. Other things to note: We will organise a taxi to collect and deliver you as the place can be a little difficult to find. You pay the taxi directly.
