Facing south and looking onto Mont Blanc, La Flégère is the departure point for classic grande randonnée hikes to magnificent mountain lakes. From Les Praz village, the cable car rises over the Chamonix golf course and takes you to the La Flégère site at 1,877m. If you want to go higher, a chair lift takes you to the Index, at 2,595m. There are hiking paths to Lac Blanc, and Les Chéserys lakes in the Aiguilles Rouges, a natural conservation area. In Winter this is the nearest lift to the mazot for skiing at Brevent-Flégère.
