Best stargazing spot according to the staff at the visitor center! There’s plenty of parking and a short, well-maintained trail to the rock formations at Cap Rock, as well as Joshua Trees all around – making for perfect foreground silhouettes in your astrophotos.

A great place to stop for an introduction to Joshua Tree. There is a short .3 nature trail with views of rocks and trees. Gram Parsons and Keith Richards hung out here looking for UFOs.

Two short trails. A 0.4 mi (0.6 km) paved nature trail through rock formations and Joshua trees, that has minimal elevation changes and is wheelchair and stroller accessible. Also, a 0.3 mi trail around Cap Rock that passes the Gram Parsons Memorial site.
