Wall Street Mill is a moderate two mile out and back hike to an old mill site. This mill was used to process gold from local mining operations. At the end of the trail the homestead and mill still stands and there are several old rusted cars around the area. Please leave all artifacts for future visitors to enjoy as well. The trailhead starts just east of the Barker Dam area from a dirt parking lot off of Queen Valley Road. This trail has little shade and no cell service. Always check the weather forecast before heading into the park and consider changing plans if the weather conditions are too extreme.

This is another of my favorite places in the park. This pretty flat trail will take you past a lot of old cars and the most interesting mine/mill in Joshua Tree.

Short up and back trail. Next to Barker Damn (can do both in the same day). See old trucks, windmills, and gold and ore mill from old.

While this hike is not on the map you get when entering the park, it is accessed from the same parking lot as Barker Dam and has a plaque and signs to guide you along the well-maintained path. It is less popular than Barker Dam but provides a lot of great history without the crowds and is a must do hike in the park. The hike to Wall Street Mill is two miles round-trip. On the way, you’ll go by a few abandoned rusted old cars, which are cool for photography. Then when you get to the mill itself, you can walk all around it, and it’s pretty well-preserved. You can’t go in it, but you can get some great views walking around the historic structure, and it’s a fun short hike in Joshua Tree.

Great hike with tons of photo opportunities, Wall Street Mill Trail is a 2.4 mile out and back trail located within Joshua Tree National Park that features beautiful wild flowers and is good for all skill levels. The trail features abandoned cars, tombstone with history and the mine at the end of the trail. Well worth the hike!
