At the heart of the town, now known as Plaza Antonio Mijares, a significant transformation took place. The demolition of a building that had once served as both a school and an old manor house marked the beginning of this change. In its stead, the Municipal Delegation was erected during the latter half of the 20th century. In 1904, a clock, which still graces the tower of the Municipal Palace in the community of San José del Cabo, was installed. Its colonial architecture adheres to a Neoclassical and understated style, characterized by a prevalence of horizontal and straight lines over curves. The continuous cornices stand out as nearly singular embellishments, contributing to the overall architectural charm of San José del Cabo.
