This Italian inspired bistro/bar has been a local favorite with both families and couples for years. They offer a pleasant ambiance and excellent servers while delivering the good food we have grown to expect. We ALWAYS get the funghi pizza (all are wood fired with a thin charred crust) and split another entrée and an affordable bottle of red wine. It is a perfect walk from the house in the summer. Don't be disappointed if you have to wait. Unfortunately, they do not take reservations.

This old house was retrofitted to house a very chill yoga studio and carioca bowl operation. The bowls are the best in town, but if you are super hungry and want a carb fest, go up the street to Tin Shed.

My opinion. The Best Brunch place on Alberta but you will need to be prepared to wait (esp on Sat and Sun), but you can help yourself to a cup of Joe and/or talk a walk along Alberta to kill some time while you wait for your name to rise to the top of the list. Not only do they allow dogs on their patio and make a mean bloody mary, they serve up some delicious and huge meals-homemade biscuits with freezer jam and creative scrambles with crispy potato pancakes topped with crème fraiche...bring it ON! The amount of food they dish out makes this place a darn good value.

No summer passes without a summer trip to the rose garden with a packed brunch and a blanket. I love to wander through the roses in their full glory with snow covered Mount Hood in the distance over the Portland skyline (PHOTO OP!!) The Japanese garden and the zoo are also contiguous with the Rose Garden, so if you have time, there is a day's worth of fun up here, alternatively, drop down to NW 23rd for some window shopping at some local boutiques mixed with some national chain stores.

There is a great lunch spot right next door and it's close enough to Hood River that you can check out that great little town as well.

An untimate underground wine bar with a very limited selection of snacks is such a fun place to relax and try a glass of wine you probably have never heard of before. It also has a nice patio option for nice weather. One of my favorite places to chill out and never disapoints. Opens at 4 or 5. Follow your gps as it is tucked into an alley-ish entrance with little signage directing you from the street.
