This is an old school type Chinese restaurant and while it is not, in my opinion, the best Chinese spot in LA it is the closest (just around the corner). It also has a full bar.

Check the website for current exhibitions. Spring - Fall there is also a free outdoor jazz concert every Friday evening from 6-8pm; Latin jazz on Saturdays; and a free classical concert on Sundays.

This beautiful, air-conditioned library next to Beverly Hills City Hall is a lovely spot to work from your laptop or to read. There is free wi-fi and an attached cafe for snacks and coffee.

This convenience store is right around the corner from my place. They sell beverages (no alcohol here as it is next to a school) and snacks/convenience items. Keep in mind, as in all of LA, there is usually a homeless man outside who may be begging for money. I wouldn't be too concerned but best to ignore them.

Keep in mind, as in all of LA, there is usually a homeless man outside who may be begging for money. I wouldn't be too concerned but best to ignore them.
