I recommencement parking close to the lake and taking a long walk up as you have to pay for parking op on the edge. And taking a walk to the waterfall . This place was much more than a parliament. It was summer market and the main mach making place as people meet from all over Iceland. The boys used to show of for the girls on the grounds in fighting and sports and the girls gathered on the sided joking and spooring them on. You nead 3 hours for this stop. There is also a tourist info in the campsite. This is a good place to go walking by the lake. In 1944 my mom and most of the young people was there for the first day of independents in poring rain.
