If you're visiting Philly and enjoy exercising, it's mandatory to run up the Art Museum steps a la Rocky Balboa. But for a longer jog, take the nearby trail through Fairmount Park which runs along the Schuylkill River. You can ride a bike on the trail too (grab a Indego bike share), and there are plenty of spots for picnicking, watching university sculls on the water near Boathouse Row, or even fishing.

Looking for a cheesesteak? Avoid the usual touristy suspects and head to John's. They are in a class by themselves. Get there early to keep the wait down to less than half an hour, and with the monster steak in hand, step outside to the fine dining area, where an old lady holds court and says, "Go ahead, sonny, take that table over the there."

We haven't tried it, but judging by the lines of Segways we see around Old City all the time, it's popular with tourists and their tired feet.

Old City Philadelphia is the kind of place where we're used to seeing re-enactors in full Colonial get-up wandering around, so of course we also have horse-drawn carriages that can take you around the neighborhood. Tours depart daily from 5th and Chestnut Street.
