Best late-night Sushi spot in Santa Monica! They also have two Happy Hours, the latter goes from about 9 to close. An extensive menu where rolls often are less than $5 bucks! and Sapporo on draft for $2

The hike in Temescal is less crowded than Runyon but equally fascinating views. So you're hiking and over looking the Pacific Ocean...um, yeah!

During the summer their are free outdoor concerts at the Pier every Thu. as well as movie screenings, festivals, yoga, even the Opera! - must see while in Santa Monica!

One of the best beaches in Los Angeles. Less crowded and really nice. Transit wise, the 534 Metro Bus goes there and costs $1.75, Uber, Lyft or other ridesharing will take you there (approx. $20) or if you have rented a car it's perhaps a 20-30min drive. Bring a beach towel and sunscreen and enjoy the day. -- they charge for parking there.

One of the best beaches in Los Angeles. Less crowded and really nice. Great art, only two stops away (7min) by train from Downtown Santa Monica. Lots of good rotating artists and galleries all right together. Definitely worth a look

Los Angeles County Musuem of Art. Go to see the famous Light scuplture just outside the musuem. You may get there on the Rapid 720 Metro Bus (the stop is Wilshire & Fairfax) board from my place at 4th and Wilshire. Nice live jazz there on certain nights.
