For me this is the most relaxed and vibey place in J Tree. The food in excellent, the staff is that mix of cool and polite that every restaurant tries for but not all pull off. You can't go wrong with the LA Reuben or the chicken quesadilla.

Right at Pioneertown Road on Twentynine Palms Highway is Frontier. It's a lovely combo of very nice breakfast and lunch items and a curator of the art and music scene in the area. You can feel the care people have taken to preserve the traditions of the area while bringing a young energy to the place.

You can feel the care people have taken to preserve the traditions of the area while bringing a young energy to the place.
I've seen so many great shows here. I've been in some of them. Look at the website for all the history but that place holds some magical memories for everyone I know. The food is great too.
Lately it's gotten super popular so it might be a long wait on the weekends.

Recently redone into a fun little cocktail bar. Watch up to two whole planes take off and/or land from your vibey perch just off the runway. The bartenders and an easy hang too.

A little lake in the middle of the desert. There's fishing, weird art, a music festival venue next door. Just a fun spot to take a picnic and relax.

Filming locations. of dozens of westerns way back in the day. Right next to Pappy & Harriet's. Strange that Airbnb would categorize it as a shopping mall but ok, sure, you can buy things there.
