A great trail West of Golden that is about a 12 mile loop. On weekends odd days are for hiking and even days for bikers. Beautiful variety of views. This is usually a much less crowded trail than others in Golden. The Ralph Schell trailhead is the closest and avoid a big climb to the main trail that the Clear Creek Trail head has.

This is usually a much less crowded trail than others in Golden. The Ralph Schell trailhead is the closest and avoid a big climb to the main trail that the Clear Creek Trail head has.
This is the most direct trail to hike Castle Rock the rocky high point overlooking Golden from South Table mounting. Only about 3 miles round trip and great hiking bang for your buck.

Amazing nearby state park with great hiking, climbing and and site seeing. Hikes for every level including an amazing flat out and back Fowler Trail with greats views of climbers scaling the many routes in the canyon.

Really nice public pool as well as ice rink. Also there is a free indoor playground that is great and even does cheap 2 hour childcare if you want to get a workout in.
