Great family friendly beach located on Arkansas bay in Rockport (5 min away). Good for kids as there are no strong currents / riptides like beached on the Gulf. Waves are typically modest and the depth is very gradual. Our kids love it.

Located 15 minutes from Rockport (not including ferry wait) is Port Aransas and the beach on the Gulf of Mexico. Port A has many great restaurants, good nightlife and plenty of beach access (you’ll need permit).
This is an ocean beach so please be aware and conscious of waves, currents and riptides.
Ferry lines can range from 15 minutes to 2.5 hours. Google and check wait times.
