In the mornings people go exercise all over and it’s great for being able to walk around and see things without the usual crowds and security.
In the warm weather… they have movie on the rocks with a local band that plays till dark and then the movie starts. Check website or google to see what packaging and snacks you can bring inside.
Everyone needs to see that venue for the views. Park in the upper lot unless you are acclimated to the altitude. TONS of stone steps. But worth it.🤗
There is a museum and art display in the top.

People love the Sopapillas and the indoor cliff diving, the kids can run through the maze of tunnels and find the old time arcade rooms. They have been remodeled and are under new ownership. I always got the chicken tortilla salad when my kids wanted to go there. Local history around here makes it a must see especially for kids. There were game rooms and tunnels… don’t know what the remodel has done for the place but the cliff diving entertainment was kinda fun.

2 Great Lakes with beach areas. Rental boards and kayaks available. $10 a car to enter last I went. Fishing too.

Lazy river and a slide that goes out of the building and back inside park on west side entrance. Somewhere in that huge place is a basketball court and running track.

They have the original BeauJos Pizza just down the street and around the corner. They serve honey to smear on their famous huge crust sort of like a sopapillas. Franchises of BeauJos are all around Denver too.

The breakfast burrito smothered in green chili is HUGE; I got mine without the tortilla and it’s just huge. All their food is huge. Written up in all the food magazines for their pastrami burger. The steak fries are great.

Downtown Golden is just west on 44th Ave. Easy biking distance and lots of trails/ safer roads to get there. One way is a bike trail that starts just south over the bridge across Hwy 58 on McIntyre. West Goes to Golden… East goes to Arvada/towards Denver and both follow clear creek. You can also take 44th west past the Train museum and Coors brewery which gives tours and tasting. Just past the Coors building is the raft rental to float along Clear creek behind the library and at the very end of 44th is the Golden rec center. Not as big as the rec center in Arvada on 72nd… but the pool has a beach area with slides and a lap pool. Park out front is good for July fireworks viewing.
Lots of restaurants and shopping. Makes for a great bike ride into town on the trails and back. I have 2 bikes to loan out. Just let me know so I can make sure the tires have air.

2 Light rails to Denver.Golden: ebike rentals & tubing.
The light rail is a great way to avoid driving and parking down town. There is a pick up line just 7min away on Ward Rd and 52nd Ave. It’s nicer and newer than the others. Another light rail 12 min away at the 6th Ave/C470/I-70 intersection at Golden/Jeffco Government building(Taj Mahal). The light rail also goes to DIA.

Walking/Hikes
Walking path/trailhead across the street w/ great Mountain View’s. Many Parks all around close by. Trails close by at North Table Mesa on both sides of the Mesa. Great views and a waterfall in the early summer east side middle. Need ankle boots for snakes… especially around the bottom of the waterfall. Trails are well maintained. Lookout Mtn has good hikes w/ views. Bottom parking is open to the sun. Middle parking has porta-potty and the trail is more shaded to the top w/ restrooms @ top.

Bike trails:
A great concrete path separate from any traffic just on the south side of the McIntryer bridge over Hwy 58. One way goes towards Denver east (long ride) and a short 15-20 min ride west into Golden. You can always take bikes and park at RTD stations (trains or busses). Usually they take bikes and you can get closer to where you wish to ride😉. Colorado puts a lot of money into paths/trails; do look them up and enjoy them. Take sun screen & water😉. Vita-min E(not synthetic), cordyceps, & carbon 60 all help w/ oxygen.
