Where to eat in Taksim?
1- Taksim Midpoint
This place is my favorite. You can go there anytime of the day. Has a spectacular view. It's a chain restaurant so do not worry about the taste of the food there. ıt's world cuisine so you can find something suitable for your taste.
2- 360 Istanbul
On top of a building on Istiklal Street. It's a fancy place. You can go there anytime of the day. Common place for celebrations like anniversaries. As you can understand from the name palce has 360 degrees view of Istanbul which is pretty fascinating..
3- 1924 Istanbul
The most special place for me. The founder or Turkish Republic Mustafa Kemal Atatürk has a table that is reserved forever in this restaurant.. The place is history on it's own. Other than that the food there is really delicious and you should definetely try their cocktails. Spicy ones are my favorites!
4- Pizzeria Pera
Pizza may not be a local meal but if you are a pizza fan like me you should definetely check this place out. I ve tried almost all pizzas there and they are amazing.
5- Fıccın
This place is very popular lately. Haven't been there yet but all my friends suggest this place. I ve heard that they are famous with their hospitality and Caucasian Food.
5- Çiçek Pasajı
This is a street that is part of İstiklal Street , It has its own entrance there are lots of restaurants specialized on sea food. You can try any of those restaurants , i dont have an personal suggestion. Try different "meze"'s and delicous fish. If you drink alcohol and want to try a different taste i strongly recommend "Raki" which is strong and delicous Turkish drink.
6- Kızılkayalar - Hamburger Buffet
A small place just at the beginning of Istiklal Street that has a special hamburger called " ıslak" which is a small burger that you can have 2 or 3 , has a special tomato sauce. You should drink local drink "ayran" with it.
Suggestions for Nightlife
There are not many bars or Clubs that i prefer here because i prefer places closer to Bosphorus. But ofcourse i have some suggestions for you 😊
1-Pub Crawlers Istanbul
A regular pub mostly preferred by foreign tourists.
2-Nardis Jazz Club
Never been there but heard it from some friends.
3-Ritim Bar
Common place for young people popular amongst tourists.
4-Moretender’s Cocktail Crib
Amazing Cocktails! Crowded place
5- Bidaha Meyhane
A place for locals mostly. If you want to experience local fun thats your address. You start with dinner around 8pm after 11pm music gets louder ( Turkish new&old pop). People dance at their tables until 2-3 a.m . Has an amazing view. You would definetely need resevartions on weekend.
6- Monkey Istanbul
My favorite. Has delicious cocktails and view. You should go there by sunset to watch the city.

Grand Bazaar is one of the World’s oldest and biggest covered shopping mall! It’s the most common place for tourists to do their shopping. You can find anything you would think of. Especially delicious Turkish Delights , Handmade rugs , Handmade jewelery items , traditional items.
But it is not just shopping! I have an exclusive tip for you that not anyone knows. We have an special food called “Döner Kebap” now its popular around the World but you should defenitely eat Döner Sandwich at “Şahin Usta” which is just next to one of the entrances of Grand Bazaar you can check it online. It has an amazing taste. It’s just a small shop that only 3 people can fit. You eat on your food but trust me on this😊.
Other than that , even if you are not interested in shopping or eating a delicious Döner Kebab , you should visit Grand Bazaar to experience the amazing historical atmosphere. Bazaar has over 1461 different shops and 60 streets inside. The Grand Bazaar was built on 1460 and had faced many earhquakes , fires and other incidents but it is still the heart of commerce in Turkey.
If you have an camera that has panaromic photo feature you can get awesome shots there.

You will find lots of restaurants with name beginning "Sultahmet Köftecisi" Look for the one that ends with "Selim Usta" which is the best one in my opinion :) That restaurant is serving since 1920. Crowded place you may need to wait for a table.

3-Matbah Restaurant - Fancy and little bit pricey compared to others. You can find delicous world cuisine food. Well known with Ottoman Cuisine.

5- Four Seasons Hotel at Sultanahmet - Wouldn't recommend for staying , fancy rooms but it's really crowded around, hard to move because of traffic. But has terrific atmosphere. You can visit during the day for a break and enjoy your Turkish Coffee.
6- Fine Dine İstanbul Restaurant - Has an amazing view. You can see almost all places listed above. You should ask them for " Meze Tabağı" which they serve small portions of different kinds of food called "meze" as starters. This one is my favorite :)

While the emperor was thinking about how he could keep her daughter away from a snake; he thought of building a tower in the Bosphorus area so that his daughter would live there and be close to the city.
After building the Maiden's Tower , the princess began to live there alone so no one or any danger would get close to her.
But even that was not enough the protect her daughter. A snake hid into the boat that was delivering food to the princess and bit her. She died there because of the poison.
If that myth was not romantic enough for you, here is the other most popular story about the Tower.
There were 2 lovers , they were bounded to each other so tight that their love story was even compared to Romeo & Juliet's.
Lander and Hero were living on the different continents of Istanbul Europe & Asia.
During the night Hero was hanging light to the tower so that Lander could find his way to tower while swimming. So they were able to meet secretly. But Bosphorus Area is famous with it's windy weather. One night the light that Hero hang on the tower fell to the sea and Lander got lost while following the lantern to the open seas.
Hero couldn't resist that sadness and jumped to the sea, going after Lander. It's believed that they met again for one last time ..
Other than the myths above, Maiden's Tower is of my favorite places to enjoy Istanbul's view. You can get there by boats sailing from Üsküdar coastline. Or you can just sit at the benches and enjoy Turkish Tea & Çekirdek

Just next to the mall there is Istanbul Aquarium with one of the biggest aquariums in Istanbul which you should see if you are interested in sealife.
There also 2 restaurants: Kaşıbeyaz for fancy dinners with kebab & grill options.

Their latest place is Kaşıbeyaz Akvaryum.
Even the restaurant is famous with its kebabs , their breakfast is really delicious.
But please make sure you make reservation for a table on window side to enjoy the amazing view.
The restaurant has valet parking. Also you can park inside Aqua Florya Mall and go to restaurant again , but closed parking is also not free so if you are there only for restaurant i suggest valet parking.

Even the restaurant is famous with its kebabs , their breakfast is really delicious.
But please make sure you make reservation for a table on window side to enjoy the amazing view.
The restaurant has valet parking. Also you can park inside Aqua Florya Mall and go to restaurant again , but closed parking is also not free so if you are there only for restaurant i suggest valet parking.

Make sure you try their Çiğ Köfte its my favorite on starters. İf you are a crowded group , Kallavi Kebab is great choice.
The service is awesome. There is a game room for kids to enjoy while you eat.
