This is where most of the islands local beach bums will hang. *Dog owners beware most locals have their dogs off leash here.*

You can either park or drive even further down South towards Big Shell and Little Shell (you'll need a 4 wheel drive!). They have camping areas for tent camping along with RV set ups, boat launch and an area for water sports (and rentals available at Bird Island).

Great fishing and hangout that may not always be crowded. Once inside park, I usually take the left fork in the road to that side of the beach and head towards the jetty!

If you would like to see some wildlife in person, stop by the Texas Sealife Center during our hours of operation listed below. We recommend you call ahead to make a reservation if you plan on taking a tour so that they can ensure that you see as many animals as possible! Tours are $9 per person for everyone ages 3 and up.
Our hours are:
Monday - Tuesday: Closed
Wednesday - Saturday: 10 am - 4 pm
Sunday: 12 pm - 4 pm
