Pioneertown was established in 1946 when Dick Curtis shared his dream for a "Living Breathing Movie Set". Shortly after, seventeen investors including Curtis, Roy Rogers, Dale Evans, The Sons Of The Pioneers, Russell Hayden, Frank McDonald, Tommy Carr, Terry Frost, and Bud Abbott each invested $500 and incorporated. The company then purchased 32,ooo Acres of land which would soon be known as Pioneertown.

Joshua Tree National Park is a truly amazing National Park, famous for its distinct trees. Ethereal at both sunrise and sunset, this National Park is one of the most magical in the US. Joshua Tree National Park is safe at night, and you can enter the park after dark. The roads are marked, and the park is patrolled.

Some of our favorite spots in JT National Park are Skull Rock, Cholla Cactus Garden, Keys View, Hidden Valley Nature Trail and Arch Rock.

Spring blooms usually begin with the Joshua trees in late February followed by shrubs and annuals through May.

Black Rock Canyon Campground
