Sightseeing
You can take the Fort Fisher ferry from Southport to Kure Beach. You drive your car onto the ferry and its about a 30-minute ride. Makes for a great day trip. There is also an Aquarium on Kure Beach

You take a Ferry from Southport to Bald Head Island. The ferry ride is about 30 minutes. Once you arrive on the Island it's fun to rent a golf cart and Cruze around the Island. There are no personal vehicles on the Island except for workers. There are a few places to eat on the water near the Marina. I would recommend a backpack with water, maybe some snacks, bug spray, and sunscreen. There is a grocery store there also in case you forget something. There is also a serval place you can park and go to the beach for a swim. There is also a Lighthouse to visit with awesome views.

Bald Head Island
You take a Ferry from Southport to Bald Head Island. The ferry ride is about 30 minutes. Once you arrive on the Island it's fun to rent a golf cart and Cruze around the Island. Southport
Visiting Southport will not disappoint. Enjoy the city park with the large live oak trees with the art museum near the park. Enjoy Downtown on the River, there is several places to park along the river and some swing sets to sit and view the River and boat traffic. If your lucky you can catch some big Ships that come in and out of the mouth of the Cape Fear River they usually are heading to the local port of Wilmington.

Go down Howe street till the end and you're there, it's about a 10 to 15-minute drive from the Hut.
