Neighborhoods
Located on a Magnolia tree lined residential street just north of San Francisco's famous Castro District. This quiet residential neighborhood is safe and walkable with nice restaurants and shops. And across Market Street is the historic Castro Street theater, restaurants, bars and shops. One block away is our weekly Farmer's Market (seasonal). Located within blocks of ALL San Francisco MUNI light rail lines and the historic F line which features historic street cars from around the world and is a fantastic way to travel to Union Square, Fisherman's Wharf and more. You won't need a car! See the map - look how many parks are located nearby. Hike? Play tennis? There are a number of tennis courts nearby - play tennis surrounded by redwoods and views of the Golden Gate and San Francisco Bay. Or walk a few blocks down 16th Street to Mission Dolores which is where San Francisco was founded. VIsit the historic wooden church which still holds services in German. Dine outside and enjoy the California sun.

It's easy to get here from the airport
San Francisco Airport is located about 14 miles south of San Francisco. It is easy to get here via safe and reliable public transportation or taxi or Uber. If you choose public transportation: Take the regional BART train from the airport to downtown San Francisco (the further you go the nicer the stations get – Powell Street, Montgomery Street or the Embarcadero Station is the best; note that while the 16th and Mission BART Station looks close to our place on a map, it is not very convenient – pass it and go downtown and switch to the outbound M, L or K line and get off at Castro Street.

Don't rent a car in San Francisco!
Be aware that as a general matter parking is not easy or cheap in much of San Francisco and a car is not needed or recommended while you are here. If you are beginning or ending your trip in San Francisco, consider not having a car at all in the City. You will find it more convenient not to have a car given that San Francisco is such a wonderful place to walk and take public transportation. Historic street cars, subways and car-sharing rentals are all located within 1 to 2 city blocks of our building. Ask about parking if you do decide to have a car.

We're flexible on Check In!
We're very flexible on what time you arrive. Check in begins after 3 p.m. We appreciate having an idea of approximately what time you plan to arrive so we can plan to meet you, show you in, and give you the keys to your accommodations. Please let us know what time to expect you by sending us details before your trip.. We begin check in at 3 p.m. and require check out by 12 noon to ensure we have time in between to clean and prepare the accommodations between guests, but if you arrive early and the accommodation is ready we will be happy to let you in.
