Here are our favorite local places to grab a bite! We only recommend restaurants and bars that we stand behind and frequent ourselves. Most of the list is here on The Island but we included some of our favorites from "in town" too!
Best Mexican food on the island! The drive thru is pretty slow so either order ahead for pick-up or go inside. They have a good deal of healthier versions of dishes too!

Great Peruvian food - way different than anything else on The Island. Interesting drinks as well and they have a nice little outdoor patio space.

Located in Corpus, this little hole in the wall has a great craft beer menu, bites and a huge outdoor patio space. They also have a couple of pool tables and many video and pinball games.

Every. Single. Thing. on the menu is excellent! Chicken is usually a boring thing to order when you eat out but they have this amazing roasted chicken that is to die for. They also have a 'secret menu' - order the ribeye from that. But you can't go wrong with anything from here!

Best view of the city & bay, especially at night! Great happy hour menu with reasonable prices as well a solid dinner menu for a special occasion (more traditional steakhouse prices).

This is our favorite pizza on The Island. We prefer to order to go because they only have a few, small tables inside. But they do have a decent beer and sandwich selection to go along with their pizza offerings.

Do you like fried chicken? You won't be disappointed with this little gem! They offer a large menu - we've never veered from the fried chicken and have tried all the sides - and we've never been disappointed. They also have a desert menu of the day and they are homemade and excellent! Definitely grab one no matter what it is!

This is going to sound crazy but they probably have better prices on dairy and pantry items here than they do at the IGA. Of course, HEB is always your best deal but if you just need to grab a few things and don't want to have to go into town, they have everything at Dollar General except fresh produce!

The only complete grocery store on the island! They have really good prices on meat and some of the produce. Otherwise, I'd only recommend using it for a short list and not the big haul.

Who doesn't love Sprouts? Great produce, meat & bulk items. Good prices. Not as busy as HEB. They are also on Instacart and can usually be delivered in around 90 minutes.

This is one of the larger HEB stores and it is the closest to us. If you don't want to deal with the crowd (because there will be one) then you can do their convenient curbside or delivery through Instacart or their app.

Didn't have much success on your fishing trip? Paul's has everything you need! We love to get the oysters (50 cents each or less!) They have daily deals like Tuna Thursday with sushi grade fish and others. It's just over the bridge in Flour Bluff. Check out their Facebook page for specials!
