Visit Pioneertown for a blast to the past in this truly wild west scene. Great shopping and dining and just an all around fun day trip. The new Red Dog Saloon just opened (we haven't personally been yet) but heard great reviews!

If you're up for a bit of a drive then the Cholla cactus garden is a must see! Try to catch it at sunrise or sunset, the chollas glow in the sunlight. It's a bit of a trek and down toward the Palm Springs end of the park but totally worth it once you're standing in a sea of chollas!
