Johnsons of Old Hurst is definitely a 'must visit'. It has an amazing butchery, bakery, gift shop, fruit and veg shop, cheese counter with an extensive range of cheeses and delicatessen. The steak house is definitely worth a visit and there is also a tea room with an excellent selection of treats.

Tom's Cakes has a bakery (with a small shop) in Somersham, and shops/cafes in St Ives and Ely. They bake THE most amazing cakes and have a fantastic reputation locally as 'the place to go for cake'... guests at the cottage are urged to visit Tom's and try their cakes and bakes, including delicious sausage rolls.

Lakeside Lodge provides a range of activities including Golf, Fishing, Tenpin Bowling, Conferences, Weddings and Functions. Lakeside Lodge was established in March 1992 and is now under new ownership and management. The cathedral city of Ely stands on the banks of the River Ouse. It's steeped in medieval history, with the cathedral being an absolute 'must-see'. There are many winding historic streets with shops and cafes, and there isa market on a Thursday and Saturday each week.

The beautiful and historic city of Cambridge is just a 30 minute drive from the cottage, or you could choose to take the bus, or the guided bus from St Ives. There's so much to see and do in this wonderful city, it's certainly a 'must-do' in terms of sightseeing when staying at the cottage.
