One of my favorite places in Sattler. Their menu has different but tasty food items. Cute, quaint, good food, mimosa buckets, serves breakfast/dinner/lunch. Inside and outside seating. If there is a wait, they will take your phone number down and call you when your table is ready. The cabin is only 2 minutes from this place, so I usually go back to the cabin to wait for my table to be ready.

You can see this place from the cabin (by the stop light). I've never had bad BBQ here. Just walk up to the outside window and order. I usually grab a quick lunch here. The chopped BBQ sandwich rocks.

One block away from the cabin. Take a right out of our parking lot and stay on the back street. This is a clean grocery market with good selection. Since the cabin isn't stocked with groceries, I recommend my visitors shop here for convenience.

This is a full day of fun and exploring.
From the cabin, follow River Road till it ends, and you will find yourself 5 minutes from Historic Gruene or backtrack to FM 306. Either way, Gruene is about 15-20 minutes away.
Sip, shop, and listen to live music! The famous Gruene Hall is rich with charm. It draws tourist from all over. There are antique shops galore, a General Store, and little shops/boutiques to explore. Most offer wine/beer while you shop! No wonder this is a happy place. LOL.
Gristmill is located beneath Gruene's landmark water tower, in the ruins of an 1878 cotton gin, overlooking the Guadalupe River. They turned this old cotton gin into a thriving multi-level restaurant called The Gristmill. It has great food. There is a souvenir shop and a beer garden to explore while you wait for your table. Rio Guadalupe is a campground that offers tubing, kayaking, and rafting. Their river float starts at the END of the horseshoe. This float is a family favorite (a bit more chill/less crowded than the horseshoe). They are a short 3 minute drive up River Road.

Has a bathroom house and port-a-potties on site. Might want to bring your own camp chairs and shade (pop-up tent or umbrellas) should all the shaded areas be taken. When the park is full, they close the entrance so get there before noon.
