There are a lot of different ways to enjoy Emerald Lake: you can rent a canoe (summer) or snowshoes (winter) and get fantastic views from the middle of the lake. You can enjoy a leisurely stroll to the back of the lake or if your feeling up to it, complete the whole loop around. For more enthusiastic hikers I would recommend checking out the Emerald Basin for a hike of moderate-difficulty or the Emerald Triangle for a difficult but extremely rewarding full day hike!

Neighbourhoods
Take a stroll around the charming town of Field! There are several plaques placed around town, telling the story of our beloved little slice of history. Some of the most fantastic views in the Rocky Mountains are obtained simply from standing in the town of Field, and looking up! Mount Stephen, Mount Dennis, Mount Field, and Mount Burgess tower over Field, creating one of the most incredible panoramic views you could possibly dream of. Make sure to cross the train tracks and head over to the visitors centre to get a more detailed history on Field, Yoho National Park, and the surrounding areas. On a hot summers day, you're likely to find some locals and their dogs floating in the adjacent pond (us included!)

Some of the best (and only!) food in Field. Great selection of craft beer, Canadian wine, and delicious food. The menu changes twice a year to keep things interesting. Make sure to save room for dessert.
