As its name suggests it is a gathering point for the urban dwellers of the Galata and Cihangir area, as a good starting point before more drinks and fun.

You need an Istanbul Card for all public transport.
You could buy İstanbul Card from ticket kiosks at stations, which is 6 TL. You could also toll money by the same kiosks. Unfortunately, you need a card per person because of the pandemy regulations and each card has to be paired with an individual HES number (Turkish Government's Covid tracking system). Don't get scammed, take taxies from Taxi stations!
The most reliable and cheapest way to get a taxi is through the taxi stations. Random taxies from the street might be problematic for tourists because of overcharging. I particularly recommend Karaköy Turizm Taksi station for airport transfers. Istanbul airport costs almost 160 TL.

For Sabiha, I personally choose
1. to take a ferry from Karaköy to Kadıköy first
2.then taking a shuttle from Kadıköy to the Sabiha airport
Shuttle station is 5 minutes walk from Kadıköy pier. You could use the same route to come from the airport as well. Just reverse the algorithm. The shuttle fee is 14 TL.
For İstanbul Airport you could use shuttles departing from Taksim square. Which is 35 TL. But I'll recommend taking a cap instead. The average fee should be around 160 TL between my place and the Ist Airport. You could take it from Karaköy Turizm Taksi
