Each one of these restaurants has a certain time when they are EXACTLY what you're looking for. My official judgement exists below. :-)
Perfect restaurant all around. Great food. 0.4-mile walk from the house. Dog-friendly outside seating, well-spaced indoor seating, and carry out all available. Beautiful location. Highly ethical owners.

This place is the PANTS. General Italian food and pizza, made with clever recipes and unique, locally sourced ingredients. THEN, on top of all their tasty food, if you decide to go in they have a beautiful, simple atmosphere, an excellent drink menu, an excellent playground, and the outdoor seating is dog-friendly.

I've only eaten food from here once, but it was great. I don't know why I haven't been more. The owners of this restaurant are great people who know what they're doing, and food, drinks, and atmosphere all regularly get great reviews.

Bar in a house. Wicked popular. Beer and Wine only, almost always has live music.

Looking for a little vino, or a flite of craft beer? Wimberley has vineyards and breweries surrounding it in all directions.

Food is pub food, drinks are drinks, but this place is right on the creek, YOU CAN SWIM HERE, and by golly... it's fun. IS NOW CALLED "CHILLS ON THE CREEK."

Sightseeing/Hiking
Less of a "hike" and more of a challenging staircase. The path up Old Baldy is short, steep, and from the top, you can see all of Wimberley.

Less of a "hike" and more of a challenging staircase. The path up Old Baldy is short, steep, and from the top, you can see all of Wimberley.
This underrated park isn't on all of the tourist's checklists, so it's much more peaceful. During the summer, in non-pandemic times, the high school theater team produces Summer Shakespeare plays on the stage, at Christmas there's a trail of lights that's absolutely charming, and in April at the Butterfly Festival, hundreds of monarch butterflies are released by children, teachers, parents, and people's grandparents.

During the summer, in non-pandemic times, the high school theater team produces Summer Shakespeare plays on the stage, at Christmas there's a trail of lights that's absolutely charming, and in April at the Butterfly Festival, hundreds of monarch butterflies are released by children, teachers, parents, and people's grandparents.

Before, when you didn't have to buy a ticket, Blue Hole during the summer was packed with trailers, trash, and hundreds of swimmers at a time. You guys - it was Bubbaville. SINCE it's makeover about 5 years ago, however, it's been kept beautiful and every swimmer who goes is able to enjoy their swim in relative peace.
NO TICKET NEEDED to go to the park, however. Here you'll find lovely hike and bike trails, playgrounds, sports fields/courts, and all the trappings of a typical city park - laid out widely, in paradise.
