Okay a raw food / Juice bar is not for everyone I suppose but if that is your thing, this place is not to be overlooked. The coconut "crab" cake is one of my favorites. You can't go wrong with a bunch of sides either! It has recently moved to a space at 408 H St NE AKA Hempburger (take the streetcar!)
This is quickly becoming our "go to" coffee shop. The baked goods are inventive and divine, the coffee is top notch and they have heavier food (soup, salad, sandwiches and change daily as well). As an added bonus the serve alcohol and are open during dinner hours as well.

No frills take out place. Great spot to run out and grab breakfast to bring back to the apartment. Affordable and yummy! (Not to be confused with the other Tony's at the corner of H St, which is not nearly as good).

Parks & Nature
Fun place to get a glimpse of urban nature parks. The map is a bit off. The entrance to the parks and trails is off of Benning road. Walk toward the trees and river and look for the sign at the far side of the parking lot. It's a true urban gem! You can take the streetcar from 15th and Benning Road NE and head East, Get off at 25th St NE and walk south/east into the large parking lot.

They provide drop off and fold service which is handy when traveling. It is the closest if not the nicest of laundromats though. I prefer the one on C and 11th St NE.

The Pie Shop (upstairs at Dangerously Delicious Pies) is a great small music venue and neighborhood bar. Wonderful hidden patio in the back.
Dive bar, DJ, late night (best for 20-30 somethings). Uber is better to get there. I would not walk at night.
