My Favorite Coffee Places
These are mostly places in the immediate neighborhood, with a few exceptions.
They have really delicious coffee drinks - my favorite is the arroyo on ice. The breakfast and lunch offerings are also quite exceptional. Also a fun people scene.

Oh, how I love the Ethiopian coffee here! I often walk here in the morning with that as my reward.

Home of the Cruffin. A hybrid of a muffin and a croissant. The filling changes daily. I also like the vegan chocolate cookie and the donuts are incredible.

I love the dyi vibe of this place. it's more low key than other coffee shops on the street. They make some excellent coffee drinks as well as having a really great coffee cake that I get sometimes.

There's an air of serenity here. I just love the pastries that look like an ear of corn. I think its called elote. and then the cream tacos are divine.

This is an old favorite. You can't go wrong here. However, be prepared to wait.

You should really get the hot chocolate here. Or the Mexican coffee with chocolate and hot pepper. This is the only coffee place that stays open later in the evening.

My Favorite Restaurants

This is my new favorite. They have a great menu and I haven't had anything I didn't like here. The cauliflower starter is so delicious. The pasta with the pork ragu is also outstanding and I love the barbecued pork country rib and fennel sausage. You could split those three and be totally full. They also have a good deal happy hour. I always get a Negroni.

This place is a good value I think. They have a great lunch special that is quite filling and you may not need to eat again for the rest of the day. But I always feel like that when I eat Ramen. It's very delicious ramen and I also like the rice bowls.

This place is getting a lot of buzz lately. People just love it and the prices are right. Taiwanese comfort food. I like the beef bun and the pancake crepe.

Wonderful gin drinks. Very good happy hour featuring the tapas style menu items. The arroz y fideua is good for dinner.

This is just really solid and good Tex Mex style tacos with homemade tortillas. It's a neighborhood favorite and the Frio is my personal favorite. They also have Shiner Bock on tap.

This pizza has a special Nancy Silverton related pedigree which is all about the crust. Its bubbly burnt and yet chewy. It's thin and yeasty. The toppings are interesting and exceptional. I love that you can order by size and then they cut it with a scissors.

I love the fried beef and cheese dumplings here. But they're all good. I like the soup dumplings also. Those are the two my husband and I always get. And the bok choy.
