Parks & Nature
Take Westridge Road straight all the way to the top and park near the trailhead. Parking is free either in small lot at top or on the street just before. Beautiful moderate hike with ocean views. On a clear day you can see south to Long Beach and west to Catalina island. The hike is 4 miles each way but go as long as you like and turn around. Favorite hike for guests to Los Angeles!

Shopping
Outdoor promenade lined with shops and restaurants. Three blocks from the water. There is a Farmer's Market there on Wednesday and Saturday mornings. At one end of the Promenade is the beautiful new outdoor mall, Santa Monica Place, which has Bloomingdale's, Nordstrom's and a food court.

Sample fruits and vegetables from local farms, pick up some fresh juice or kombucha, enjoy hot coffee and breakfast and even shop from local jewelers and designers. Don't be surprised if you run into a celebrity or two! Parking is limited so walking is strongly recommended.

There is no shortage of healthy juice and smoothie bars in the neighborhood (after all, this IS Los Angeles!) but this one is my favorite.
