Bæjarins beztu pylsur (English: The best hot dog in town) often shortened to simply “Bæjarins beztu”, is a popular hot dog stand in central Reykjavík, Iceland. In August 2006, the British newspaper The Guardian selected Bæjarins beztu as the best hot dog stand in Europe. The majority of Icelanders have eaten at Bæjarins beztu. It’s downtown near the harbor and has been open since 1937. Foreign visitors are often brought to the stand to introduce them to the hot dogs there, which are often called “the Icelandic national food.”

Slippbarinn is effectively the birthplace of the Reykjavik cocktail culture. Established in 2012 within the Icelandair Hotel Reykjavík Marina, it was the first bar in the city to focus on fresh, high-quality cocktails. Located on the beautiful Reykjavik Old Harbour, it's the perfect place to while away an afternoon over a whiskey sour and expertly prepared calamari. Be prepared to taste a cocktail you will never forget. Slippbarinn is about unforgettable moments.

Apart from it being a beautiful place to walk with stunning views across the bay to Mount Esja, the Old Harbour area is where the majority of marine activities, such as whale watching and puffin tours are concentrated; it's also home to the excellent Víkin Maritime Museum. The numerous new businesses being established, offering everything from scooter rides to the city's best dark-roasted coffee, are a testament to the wonderful community spirit responsible for generating the success of the Old Harbour and re-establishing it as a new vibrant quarter of Reykjavík City.

Its stepped concrete facade is an ode to modernism and a reminder of the Icelandic landscape. The church is named after the 17th-century clergyman Hallgrímur Pétursson, author of Hymns of the Passion. Hallgrímskirkja is an Evangelical-Lutheran church and is a part of the Evangelical-Lutheran Church of Iceland. Hallgrímskirkja is one of the most visited places by tourists in Iceland. "Being one of Reykjavík's oldest joints, Prikið feels somewhere between diner and saloon: great if you’re up for greasy eats (mains kr2000 to kr3500) and socialising. Things get hip-hop dance-y in the wee hours, and if you survive the night, it’s popular for its next-day ‘hangover killer’ breakfast (kr2590)"
