Gullfoss waterfall is world famous for it´s beauty, power, and magic. It runs down in two drops, 11 meters and 22 meters down to a 40 meters deep canyon and Golden Circle takes it name from it. Pure clacier water river with brownish colour and can freeze in winter. To get there, take road no 1 to left, east and in 10 km turn left again on 35, approx 60 minutes drive.

Geysir hot spring area has 25 other geysers. The one spouting every 6 minutes is Strokkur. Amazing site. To get there, take road no 1 to left, east and 10 km later take 35 on left which goes all the way.

Reykjadalur trail starts 3 minutes drive away from Olara. At carpark by the red painted coffeeshop you got 50-60 minutes hike up the valley. Track is very well marked and many a guest goes there during the dark hours to witness the Northern Lights from the warm river.

Blue Lagoon is a world famous swimming area, with SPAs, light blue water, good facilities, a lock room for your valuables and is supposed to be healthy but first and formost for its unique surrounding and warm water. To get there, take second exit on roundabout on no 1, no 38 which will take you to Grindavik town, then turn right on 43 and inside 10 minutes you have the lagoon on your left.

To get there, take second exit on roundabout on no 1, no 38 which will take you to Grindavik town, then turn right on 43 and inside 10 minutes you have the lagoon on your left.
For a good day relaxation with nature beauties Thjorsardalur valley is superb. To get there get on road 1 eastwards, drive through Selfoss and 20 km further east you have 30 for another 20 km and then turn right on 32. You will in a good weather, clear day and no snow enjoy places like Hjalparfoss waterfall, Haifoss, Stong, Gjain for a small hike. But it needs to be a clear frosty day.

Sightseeing
On a clear day going to Vik is a whole day excursion. You simply take road no 1 and go eastwards. Eyrarbakki almost came the capital of Iceland but lack of harbour prevented that. The first ever creation of a town started there and one can still see the small need homes of the first immigrants in early 18 century. Museum of weapons and collection of stuffed animals. Might be interesting ?

In Stokkseyri you will find a charming swimming pool, a kayak company run by our friend Gunnar with desent tours and low price and you will find Icelands best lobster restaurant Við Fjörubordid.

Superb place if you want to charm your mate. Located at Hotel Frost and Fire, you better call for reservation 583 4959. Because of its closeness, only 500 meters walk by the east side of Varma river. Recommend to all my foreign customers.
