You can go there for lunch or dinner in their court, then stay and have drinks while the place turns into a club - or visit one of their many live events and discover the artists and cultural happenings in the other parts of the building surrounding the cozy and relaxed court

Parks & Nature
To enjoy a peaceful walk around this tiny lake, picnic, read a book, or have a drink at the Bar au Lac. Also perfect for families with kids, there is a cool playground next to the lake, away from the street traffic.

Go for a jog, a walk, or a café and explore the English Garden and orangery. A Russian duchess received guests here during the early 19th century. Today, its a spot for recreation and the orangery hosts concerts and exhibitions.
The Park Café Elfenau is more like a restaurant. I haven't tried it yet ..

Arts & Culture
A museum constantly hosting different Paul Klee exhibitions and at least one more exhibition. Both exhibitions are usually really worth it. Paul Klee is a key figure in 20th century modern art, who lived in Switzerland and in Germany, where he i.e. taught at the Bauhaus, then fled to Bern at the end of the first world war .
ZPK is an architectural highlight as well, designed by Renzo Piano, surrounded by meadows, a sculpture park and a forest.

Zentrum Paul Klee station
A museum constantly hosting different Paul Klee exhibitions and at least one more exhibition. Both exhibitions are usually really worth it. Paul Klee is a key figure in 20th century modern art, who lived in Switzerland and in Germany, where he i.e. taught at the Bauhaus, then fled to Bern at the end of the first world war .
ZPK is an architectural highlight as well, designed by Renzo Piano, surrounded by meadows, a sculpture park and a forest.
Food Scene
Restaurant 5 minutes from our home on the area of an old tramdepot (not to be confused with the tourist attraction "Altes Tramdepot"). It's a lovely down to earth place that offers good food and beverages. They use regional and sustainable products.

The event location Reitschule and Restaurants Sous Le Pont & Roessli rose from Bern’s squatter scene back in the days. Today, it offers good food, and nice events: Flee markets, parties, concerts to readings.

Apart from the touristy old town, Werkhof 102 is a spacious, warm, and relaxed cafe and restaurant. The young owners offer real good coffee and good vegan and vegetarian meals. If you're visiting on a sunday, stop by for breakfast between 10-13h (please verify the times on their homepage)

The bear parc is a must for most tourists. Spot the bears and start or end your historic center tour right there. 20 minutes from our place. If you walk up "Grosser Muristalden" from there, you can enjoy a scenic view of the old town.

You basically cannot miss Bern's Old City, part of the UNESCO world heritage. Visit its fountains, Zytglogge (watchtower) and the Münster (cathedral) and explore the late medieval and baroque architecture
