Pappy's is an iconic spot in the high desert area and is a must see when visiting Joshua Tree. Located in Pioneertown which started as a live-in Old West motion-picture set, built in the 1940s. The set was designed to provide a place for the actors to live while using their homes in the movie. A number of Westerns and early television shows were filmed in Pioneertown, including The Cisco Kid and Edgar Buchanan's Judge Roy Bean. Pappy and Harriet's has excellent food and drinks,open mic night on Monday, live music, and an outdoor patio that is warm and inviting. Legendary Paul McCartney has played here along with some of our personal favorites Pinback and Ryan Bingham.

Located 0.5 miles from the house, you can walk, drive or ride a bike here! Rock Climbers Revenge smoothie is my personal favorite.They have home made kombucha, excellent breakfast sandwiches, coffee, and you must try their veggie wraps. We keep their menu at the house if you want to take a look at their full spread. Stop here before heading into the park for a great experience. Its a small cafe and often wait times for food can exceed 20-30 minutes (but well worth it), especially on weekends!
