There are so many beautiful picnic areas, wether by the lakes or up in the mountains. Pick up some freshly baked bread, some local cheese and enjoy nature! Keep the fancy restaurants for Cities! Most places have areas for bbq and even supply the wood. Grab a sausage and a stick with some mustard and bread and enjoy! Be sure to pick up any littering and bring garbage home.

Comfortable walking shoes.
Interlaken and the surrounding areas are a Mecca for hiking and mountain trails. Be sure you don't hike in flip-flops or high heels!! Always have an extra layer (sweater or raincoat), sun screen, sun glasses and water. The weather in the mountains is often unpredictable.
