Pioneertown is a great little spot located about 15 minutes from Downtown JT. It was a movie set built just after WW2, and has little shops strewn throughout - often with live music! Red Dog Saloon and Pappy & Harriet’s are the 2 restaurants up there. I prefer Red Dog because it’s way less crowded, and has calmer vibes. Pappy & Harriet’s is an epic destination, often with well known talent playing unannounced - especially during Coachella! It’s amazing, but expect an equally epic wait.

The desert is full of sunny days, but it gets cold, FAST! Always bring layers, extra hats and socks, and closed toed shoes.

Driving etiquette
Slow down!! The pace of desert life is much slower than the city, and whipping around is a good way to annoy the locals/neighbors. Also, the desert is home to many creatures crossing the road. Even if you think the road is clear, please slow down :)
