You probably drove through Hvolsvöllur on your way here, we recommend you go there to do your grocery shopping as well if you want to buy any liquor (you can’t buy alcohol in Iceland except in stores called Vinbudin) At Hvolsvöllur there is a hotel called midgardur which has events throughout the year, you can check their facebook page for upcoming concerts and events, they also show sport games and teach yoga classes.

If you have the time, I would recommend a day trip, you can either fly from Bakki airport or take the ferry from Landeyjarhöfn. The Island is small but full of activities, restaurants and museums, though a day should be enough to see it all.

Порада щодо міста

Культура та звичаї

It is not safe to park on roads

Even if no one is around, parking on the main road is very dangerous and many accidents have occurred. If you need to stop to stretch your legs or take photographs there are signs with a tree and a bench that indicate an appropriate place to park, you can even pic-nick there as well.
Як заощадити

Be careful where you shop

Many stores are overpriced, I recommend being careful where you buy your groceries and have an idea how much the króna is worth in your currency.
