Actually the best Italian bakery ever. Carroll Gardens is an old Italian neighborhood and there are some places that have stuck around - this is one of them, and the cookies, fresh-baked pastries, and cannolis will melt in your mouth. Amazing.

61 local sells mostly Brooklyn-made products (I think - they might include New York City as a whole, but it's mostly Brooklyn). This is a great place to grab a coffee, a meal, or a drink. They don't mind if you do work here either. Communal seating style. Some events and live music too.

It's a good walk or a quick cab ride away, but live bluegrass Saturday nights and cheap drinks really can't be beat. Sunny's is a total neighborhood institution.
