This is one of the most beautiful spots you will find in Colorado. You will find rock formations that are a little bit different from where you come from. There is a reason why this park has it's name.
Make sure that you check out the trading post on the south end of the park. It's a great place to grab a beer on the back patio and check out some Native American art.

Garden of the Gods Club and Resort

Mount Herman Trail is a 2.2 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail that features beautiful wild flowers and is rated as moderate. The trail offers a number of activity options and is best used from March until September. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.

The crisp air and smell of the ponderosa pines give a distinctive feeling to this 385-acre regional park. There are spectacular views of Pikes Peak and the Front Range. The developed area, with turf playfields, tennis courts, playground, and two picnic pavilions were created in natural openings of the forest.

This is one of our favorite local spots. It's right near Colorado College in the old north end. We recommend a panino or calzone. Come hungry and try their house wines; you can't beat their liter pricing.
