Artis Zoo is around the corner from our apartment, and it is a nice park-like Zoo.

Really nice to see the canals from a boat. Boaty has great open electric boats for rent. They give you a map, instructions and anyone can do it! The boats are suitable for 6 people.

From Central Station, take the train to Zandvoort aan Zee (leaves at track 1). It is a very short commute, and you can walk to the beach in just a couple of minutes from the station at Zandvoort aan Zee. Perfect for sunny days!

Parks & Nature
Great area outside of Amsterdam, unspoiled nature close to the city! It is a 40 minute bike-ride, but also has parking space when travelling by car. A nice restaurant near the water offers great breakfast/lunch.

A bit unknown to most people, this is a spacious and relaxed park. Near a swimming pool (outside open area). You can bbq here, or relax. Not so much tourists here.

Small park in the middle of the fun area ' De Pijp'. Nice to visit after browsing around de Pijp.

Very busy and full of tourists, but it is a nice area to go to! Lots of restaurants, bars, and the Vondelpark sometimes has live music at the Vondelpark Open Air theater.
