Away from the hustle and bustle of the city, enjoy your stay safely at the Raychak on Ganges complex. The restaurants are there - indulge in gastronomic delicacies from a range of dining options. Revitalise with your family or friends in a sanitised environment. Thanks to our guests, we’ve now earned Superhost status for 15 quarters in a row. However, due to significant increase in the complex’s maintenance and electricity bills we are forced to increase the charges by ₹200 per night wef July.

Hosting by us

As a Superhost of Airbnb we feel humble and proud to be part of the Airbnb family especially when we continue to receive some wonderful feedback from our guests. Since Sept 2020, once the lockdowns have eased, we have hosted guests nearly every week at our Raychak complex.

All our rooms are fitted with air conditioners and the bathrooms with geysers. We do not have a generator but there are emergency lights kept since during the monsoons there are power outages sometimes.

Regarding sanitisation

We aim to follow the cleaning and sanitisation guidelines provided by Airbnb. We allow upto 6 guests.

The sanitising process we follow are as follows :
1. Keeping a minimum gap between 2 bookings. During this period, the house is kept open to allow full ventilation.
2. After guests leave as well as on the day when guests arrive, a full cleaning with sanitising floor mop is done along with sanitising spray (with disinfectant spray gun) in all rooms including handles and other similar areas where hand touches are made.
3. All bed linen, blankets, tablecloths, floor mats are given a laundry wash. We use the same laundry as what all the guest houses at the complex uses.
4. The caretaker always uses face mask when inside the cottage or traveling from his home. He is fully vaccinated.

As we follow strict sanitising procedures, we expect that our guests are fully vaccinated and follow all Covid protocols of sanitisation including wearing of masks. The caretaker is fully vaccinated. Also for safety of all concerned, we expect our guests to come in their own sanitised private vehicles ( no Ola / Uber pl). Thank you.

Regarding food and cooking :

We have a kitchen equipped with a fridge, microwave oven, induction cookers, rice cooker, pressure cooker and utensils, electric kettle, electric toaster and crockery/ cutlery for 6 people. There is no gas connection. Your options are :

1. Basic cooking and preparation of breakfast.
2. Carry food which you can store and reheat.
3. Visit the Ffort restaurants in the complex which offers a multicuisine menu. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served here on payment. They have a take-away menu also.

Please note : DRINKING IN COMMON AREAS IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED. Our top priorities are always the comfort, safety and security of all our guests, so you'll be reassured to hear that we operate a strict no smoking, no drugs, no pets and no parties policy.

We provide tea, coffee and milk. Bottled water is also kept for each night of stay. We have no Wifi connection but use the mobile phone for internet connection.

Enjoy the twitter of the doyel, finge and the Koyel’s cuckoo. Or see the butterflies flutter. Or just sit by the Ganges and watch it flow by.

Savour the fine cuisine offered by the various restaurants in the complex serving Bengali, Indian, Chinese and Continental food. Just near the cottage, there is The Courtyard (next to Clock Tower) serving veg and non veg breakfast/lunch and dinner. It has a bar as well. The Ffort Hotel has a multi-cuisine restaurant Reflections serving excellent Indian and Continental dishes. Close to the river, the Sonar Tari restaurant does an elaborate Bengali lunch spread. And next to the swimming pool in the hotel complex is an authentic Chinese restaurant The Orient.

Or simply relax at the villa and have a fine Adda with family and friends. Away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The property is within the Raychak on Ganges complex ( where the Ffort hotel is) and is walking distance from the Ganges river.

Soumitra is a retired finance professional after working for more than 30 years in India, the Middle East and the UK. His wife Manjira and he loves decorating their homes.

We spend our time between Calcutta, London and travelling around the world. Our cottage at Raichak is a humble reflection of our passion. We have been rated as ‘Superhost’ by Airbnb for 15 consecutive quarters - ie every quarter since we became eligible for this status.

Re food, we have a kitchen equipped with a fridge, induction cooker, electric kettle, electric toaster and utensils/crockery/ cutlery for 6 people. Your options are :

A caretaker is there at the villa during the day. For any help or guidance please email us. We can also share our phone number to guests once they are booked.

To enter the complex, the lead guest must submit a copy of his photo ID with the security at the gate. Hence pl carry a xerox of any photo ID like Aadhar card, Driving Licence or PANcard. There will be safety checks at the gate in view of current Covid19 situation.
