Welcome to the Riverside Retreat. 1940's Coastal Bungalow newly renovated while maintaining its original charm. Very clean and welcoming. Located in Historic Riverside district, on the Maola block, a short distance to historic downtown New Bern. River access at community park. Lots of great restaurants, brew houses, antique stores and shopping, as well as historical sites and entertainment. About 45 minutes to Atlantic Beach, Emerald Isle, Beaufort and Swansboro.

My little Coastal Bungalow is charming and comfortable. Perfect for singles and couples. It is newly renovated and well appointed with all of the accouterments you might need. It is a lovely collection of old and new, antiques and contemporary, seaside finds, and worldly travels. The Southern Front porch is a wonderful spot to rock your cares away. Sit out back at the fire pit or dine under the pergola, grill on the bbq, relax in the swing. Bikes and kayaks available during your stay upon request.

The home is located in the quiet historic community of Riverside which is a quaint sidewalk, front porch neighborhood. There is a public waterfront park just two walking blocks from the home with water access for kayaking, sitting by the river or sticking your feet in the water. The home sits on the Maola Block and the Riverside Maola Venue.

I am a travel luster who has enjoyed living in the Mediterranean for a short time. I was born in Northern Virginia, went to college in Eastern North Carolina, lived in New Bern, NC for many years. Lived on the island of Rhodes, Greece for a year and now live in Farmville, NC with my husband and four sons.

I enjoy traveling and staying at other Airbnb's. I have enjoyed the Airbnb experience so much that I decided that I wanted the opportunity to create my own Airbnb host home to share with others; Hence, the Riverside Retreat.

I am a junker fanatic who loves to reuse and repurpose. I have created this New Bern Bungalow from treasures that are old and new... from fabulous flea market finds, family heirlooms, and travels around the world. I wanted to create a coastal retreat that was clean, comfortable and interesting to all those who entered through its doors.

I enjoy junking, creating, decorating, gardening, cooking, entertaining and traveling. I stay busy working full time as a speech therapist and raising four boys with my husband, Hugh. We live on a farm in Farmville (I know) and besides raising great kids, we have dogs and chickens.
