Thulanathi is a transformed barn home ideal for couples. It offers 140m2 of living space. The repurposed sand stone and timber home has an open plan first floor which is impressively spacious with one bedroom (KING bed), retreat area and library. The rich timber creates a warm, homely feel. The retreat area has a sofa bed and library. The ground floor has a lounge, dining/kitchen and 1.5 bathroom. The home has garden, lagoon and forest views. Nestled in a beautiful garden with free parking and own, private BBQ area. Country kitchen facilities are available to warm up and serve pre-cooked meals. We create a private, stress free destination. The beautiful garden, sensory trail, gigantic aged old trees and lagoon like dam attract wild life. We have visiting kangaroos, birds, interesting insects (dragon flies and stick insects) and Zuma, the resident water dragon and his 4 wives. Bring your bird field guide, camera, sketch book and binoculars. Forget about the time and reconnect with nature and your loved ones.

Born in Africa, we are a husband-and-wife team with Dutch-French ancestry.
We lived in Southern Africa (Cape Town & Johannesburg), France (Paris) and Australia (Sydney & Hunter Valley).
We enjoy sharing the property, meeting visitors globally. Visitors have the opportunity to experience an exclusive authentic Australian farmlet with nature, fine architecture, beautiful garden and the great qualities offered by the Hunter Valley Region. It is a real haven for family, friends, guests and wildlife.
We searched the world for our next chapter and found this gem in Pokolbin, only 90 minutes north of Sydney.
During our travels we visited great places and met awesome people in Europe, Asia, Australia, New Zealand, North & South Americas, Islands of the Pacific and Africa.
We normally travel for business, health, education and to celebrate important milestones in life.
We still prefer independent and small group travel arrangements to enjoy safe and close experiences with locals - that being people and nature.
Stephan is passionate about improving environments where people live, work and relax. He is committed to nature conservation, observation & interpretation. Karen loves learning, tea, painting and hanging out with the family at the farm.
